Richard RobinsonMemorial for Richard Robinson ’72

LEXINGTON - It is with great sadness that the family of Richard L Robinson announces his passing on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the age of 67. Rich will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Cindy, of 44 years; their son, Matt; daughter-in-law, Claire; and grandchildren, Laura and Jacob. He will also be missed by his brother, Dave of Jackson, MI; sister-in-law, Mary Lighthall (Dave) of Lake Zurich, IL; and brother-in-law, Dave Rickey (Judie) of San Antonio, TX. Rich will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Rich graduated from Millikin University in 1970 with a degree in Music Education. He served as the band director of Mundelein Elementary School District 75 until 1981, when he left for Big Spring, TX to work as an educational software program director for Gamco, Ind. Rich returned to Illinois as Program and Development Manager for Konami. He continued his gaming software career with companies including Disney, Sony, Sierra, Imagesoft, and Activision. He finished his career in 2015 at School District Richland Two's Planning Office as a Project Specialist. Many of his family and friends have been blessed to have original woodwork pieces, as Rich spent hundreds of hours designing, sanding and staining. Woodworking was a passion and Rich made sure his Lexington home included a workshop in the backyard.
