Memorial for Robert Miller ’68
Mansfield - Robert J. Miller passed away Friday, July 13th, 2018, at his residence in Wedgewood Estates in Mansfield, surrounded by his loving family. He was 92 years old.
Bob was born to Phillip Chauncey and Rose Mary (Urich) Miller in 1925, and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a lifetime St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved to sing and tell stories of his childhood.
A veteran of World War II, Bob served overseas with the Navy in Manila and Australia. He began a 38 year career with Pittsburgh Plate Glass (PPG) where he met his lovely wife Aileen. While working at PPG, he earned his college degree from Millikin University in 1968.
Bob leaves behind his children (and spouses): James (Laura) Miller, Robert (Mary) Miller, Nancy (Robert) Duck, Thomas (Wendy) Miller, and Carol (John) Shields; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and sisters Virginia Lucas and Marlene Kerlagon.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Eleanor Aileen Miller and a granddaughter Stephanie Lynn Duck.
The Miller family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Resurrection Parish, 2600 Lexington Avenue, celebrated by the Very Rev. Father Gregory Hite. Burial will follow in Shauck Cemetery with military honors performed by Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
