DECATUR -- Ernest Koshinski, Jr., 75, Decatur, passed away December 8, in Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri. Ernie was born in Decatur to Ernest F. W. Koshinski and Lorraine (Mendel) Koshinski. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He attended Millikin University and retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company after 39 years in accounting. Ernie married Cindy Murphy in 1972. He enjoyed camping, horseback riding, travel, and working on his small acreage. He is survived by his wife; daughter Kelly (Charles) Jesse, Macon; son Kevin (Jacqueline) Koshinski, Overland Park, Kansas; grandchildren, Sam and Anna Koshinski; his mother, Lorraine Koshinski, Decatur; brother Dale (Joyce) Koshinski, Warrensburg; sisters Shirley (Walter) Babcock, Decatur; Marilyn Flach (Eddie) Boerger, Clifton Hill, Missouri; Bonnie (Russell) Hall, San Dimas, California; his beloved dog, Molly; and many nieces and nephews. The family will host a Celebration of Life reception for family and friends on Friday, December 22, from 3:30-6:30 p.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Decatur. Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m., January 12, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Decatur.
