Memorial for Mollie Wrench Dolven ’44
URBANA — Mollie Louisa Dolven, 96, of Urbana passed away on Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, in Urbana.
Mollie was born in Champaign to Howard and Mabel Wrench on June 28, 1922. She graduated from Decatur High School and attended both Blackburn College and Millikin University briefly.
On Feb. 2, 1944, she married Clemens Dolven in Corpus Christi, Texas. They were married 53 years and raised six children.
She worked at several different jobs after her children started school, usually office work; and her greatest career achievement was owning a Temp Force franchise in Albuquerque and providing temporary workers for the city for several years. She loved to read and to travel. She married John Wrench on Feb. 23, 2011, in DeLand, Fla.
Mollie was preceded in death by her husband, Clem Dolven; her parents, Howard E. and Mabel Wrench; her brother, Howard “Tom” Wrench; husband, John Wrench; and her grandsons, David Reed and Michael Dennis.
She is survived by her children, Petra Dennis of Albuqerque, N.M., James Dolven (and Carrie) of Ellsworth, Kan., Patti Baker (and Dennis) of Tuolumne, Calif., Peggy Contreraz (and Billy) of Billings, Mont., Teresa Holman (and Jerry) of Thomasboro and Kathryn Scheet of Rushville. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, a sister-in-law, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held this fall in Rushville, Ill.
