Millikin University’s School of Theatre and Dance seeks candidates for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Voice and Speech to begin August, 2023. We will offer a 2-year contract, with the potential for the line to convert to tenure-track for the right candidate. The School confers BFA degrees in Design & Production, Musical Theatre, Acting, and Stage Management, and a BA in Theatre & Performance Studies. These programs are housed within the new $29 million Center for Theatre and Dance, which features a flexible courtyard-style theatre, 4 acting studios, 2 dance studios and several support spaces with the latest technology. In addition to experience and/or certification in Fitzmaurice, Linklater, or other recognized voice pedagogy, ideal candidates will be able to teach other performance-based classes such as dialects, acting, voiceover, and movement. Experience in devised theatre is especially desirable, as is experience with intimacy direction. The School of Theatre & Dance is currently engaged in a multi-year Anti-Racism plan, and we seek candidates excited about joining in that work. Minimum qualifications include an MFA or Doctorate in theatre performance.
