Position Title: Audio Visual Services Specialist

Department: Information Technology

 

Job Summary: This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and delivery of new and existing multimedia (Extron) for classrooms and university events. Responsibility for the management of student technicians in support of media services. Serve as a backup in support of the Digital Services Specialist. This position also is responsible for providing technical assistance for equipment and software in the Technology Services area.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Provides media services for faculty, staff, and students
  2. Provides technical support for Millikin equipment and software used by our faculty and students in the classroom for academic purposes
  3. Monitor JIRA work order system for Media related issues.
  4. Evaluate campus needs and recommend purchases of new media equipment and solutions
  5. Responsible for the maintenance and updating of the inventory database of media equipment
  6. Review and update policies and documentation regarding the use of multimedia equipment
  7. Maintain records for usage of media equipment
  8. Responsible for the security of keys that access multimedia rooms and equipment
  9. Responsible for the training and supervision of student technicians in media in coordination with Technology Services.
  10. Serves as a backup for the Digital Services Specialist for duplicating functions
  11. Serves as a backup for the Technical Support Specialists in the help desk area
  12. Attend and offer audio/visual support for Board of Trustees meetings

 

Other Duties:

  1. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
  2. Work on and direct special projects as needed
  3. Attend conferences, workshops, seminars etc. as required by the supervisor

 

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related area or equal work experience in a relevant technical field
  • Experience: At least two to four years of experience preferred 
  • Certifications: Extron programming preferred
  • Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Able to prioritize and multi-task, Familiar with Microsoft Office and computers, Excellent communications and customer service skills

  • Use of keyboard and typing, repetitive movement.

  • Ability to stand long periods at a time
  • Typically standing or walking
  • Typically bending, crouching stooping
  • Ability to lift 25-50 lbs.
