Millikin University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems and Computer Science, effective August 2024 with the potential for a January 2024 start. Qualifications are Ph.D./DSc in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related area. ABDs will be considered. Individuals with additional certifications are a plus. Candidates must be fiercely dedicated to teaching, maintain active scholarship and engagement in their field, and contribute service to the university. The successful candidate will hold a joint position in the Tabor School of Business and the School of Mathematics and Computational Sciences.

Millikin University seeks an individual who is passionate about teaching undergraduate students the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills related to computer science and management information systems in a hands-on learning environment. Areas of teaching include Introduction to Computer Science, Introduction to Data Science, Programming Fundamentals, Application Development, Machine Learning, and Database Management Systems.

Candidates are expected to embrace a teaching philosophy grounded in experiential learning consistent with an institution that extensively engages both its faculty and students in cooperative ventures with local businesses and organizations. Student advising and mentoring is an important part of teaching. Standard teaching load for full-time tenure-track faculty is four courses per semester. Candidates will work closely with corporate partners to advance opportunities for our students.
