Why did you choose Millikin?

Coach Seal did an amazing job of selling the culture and family feel of the track team. I was still fairly close to home so my family could come and watch me compete.

Please list some of your Big Blue stats and athletic achievements:

2x Indoor All American, 5x National Qualifier, 3x CCIW Indoor Shot Put Champ, 2x CCIW Outdoor Shot Put Champ, 16x All Conference, Millikin Indoor and Outdoor Shot Put Record, CCIW Indoor Meet Record, CCIW Outdoor Shot Put Record,5 Millikin Top Ten Performances (I&O Shot Put, Weight, Hammer, and Discus), 2013 CCIW Conference Meet Outstanding Field Athlete, Several CCIW and Millikin Athlete of the Week honors

Aside from athletics, what activities did you participate in during your time at Millikin?

Alpha Phi Omega, Exercise Science Student Club, SAC, Homecoming Power Puff Football, Student Athletic Staff, Box City, and Volleyball Coach for Webster Cantrell Hall Boys Home

What is your most memorable moment as a Millikin student-athlete?

Becoming an All American, Winning Conference as a Freshman, Yearly Bus Issues (hitting parked car, Speeding Ticket, losing a wheel on the interstate), 6 a.m. Indoor Practice, National Meets, Coach Wille's Cabin, and squatting 500 lbs.

What MU professor, coach or staff member made the greatest impact on you, and why?

Professors Don Luy and Tina Cloney were always supportive in and out of the classroom. Coach Wille had the greatest impact on me. Coach Wille would take time out of his busy day to practice with me one-on-one. He knew how to push me and provide tough love when I needed it. Coach Angie Hawk ’06 was great as well as she was able to provide me guidance and insight being an All American herself.

What are some of your accomplishments since graduating from Millikin?

Coaching throwers at the NAIA level. During coaching stint my athletes broke several school and conference records. I had eight national qualifications. Becoming a mother to my wonderful son, Beau.  Becoming one of the top Enterprise branch managers in Kansas City.

Apart from supporting the Big Blue, what is your favorite pastime?

Coaching my son's little league teams, raising beef and dairy cows, showing our Jersey cows at local and national levels, and coaching track and field.

How has your experience as a Millikin athlete prepared you for professional or personal success?

Being a Student Athlete prepared me to be driven in my personal and professional life.  It's that drive that has helped me become one of the best in my company.

What advice would you give to current MU students about preparing for life after graduation?

My advice for preparing for life after graduation is to be involved now with activities/groups on campus and the surrounding community. It's that involvement that'll help build your resume and set you apart from others. I still to this day remember all the community involvement that I did while at Millikin and still cherish those memories.
