What is Moodle?
Moodle is the course management system used by Millikin University. It stands for Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment, or Moodle!
Developed by Martin Dougiamis, an Australian educator and computer scientist, Moodle uses a social constructivist approach to education and allows rich interaction among students and professors.
How do I log into Moodle?
Log in through the myMILLIKIN portal, available at https://my.millikin.edu.
How can I get a Moodle course shell created?
Moodle courses will automatically be generated based off of information in Banner, the administrative system.
For MU affiliated users that want to use Moodle for a departmental, unit, or organizational collection of documents, contact the Educational Technology Coordinator at 217-424-3692.

How do students enroll/register in my Moodle course?
Students will automatically be placed in Moodle courses when they register for classes. If a student is NOT SHOWING up in your Moodle course, check your roster in MUOnline. MUOnline is your official course roster, not Moodle.
If the student is not showing up on your roster in MUOnline, then they have not officially enrolled in your course, or completed the paperwork to do so. Students who sign up late for your course will be added to your Moodle course after a 24 - 48 hr. delay once the information has been entered into the system. DO NOT manually enroll students into official Moodle courses.
Students who drop your course will be removed from Moodle approx. 24 hrs. AFTER the information has been entered into the system by the Registrar's Office.
How long will my courses be retained in Moodle?
Courses will be retained on your Moodle account for three semesters (essentially a year-and-a-half) after the conclusion of the semester in question.
