Kappa Lambda Honor Society
Pi Kappa
Lambda was founded in 1918 at Northwestern
University, and was dedicated by its founders to the fostering of music
and to the pursuit of eminent achievement in performance, composition,
music education, and research. In 1940 the Society of Pi Kappa Lambda
was admitted to the Association of College Honor Societies as the representative
in the field of music. The primary purpose of Pi Kappa Lambda is to recognize
the highest levels of musical achievement and academic scholarship. Each
year the Millikin chapter nominates new members and issues awards in
the following categories:
- Outstanding Senior
- Music History/Theory
- Freshman and Sophomore Certificates
