Millikin University invites families and friends of Millikin students to visit campus during the annual Fall Family Weekend Sept. 20 – 22, 2013. Great family entertainment including concerts, athletic events, a street festival, and a movie night highlight the weekend full of activities for students, their families and the community.

The following is a full listing of events.

Friday, Sept. 20

Choral Concertino
6 p.m.
First United Methodist Church
201 W. North St., Decatur

A choral presentation featuring four of the Millikin choirs including both freshmen ensembles (Millikin men and women). This is an individual family option.

Drive-In Movie Night
8 p.m.
Richards Treat University Center (RTUC), Lower Level
Millikin University Campus

Enjoy the fun family movie "Monsters University" on a 36" movie screen. Free admission, popcorn, and soda are provided.

Late Night Event – Public Observation Night, Star Gazing
8 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Leighty-Tabor Science Center

Saturday, Sept. 21

Parent Association Meeting

A marketplace with games, information from student organizations, and live musical entertainment.

Lunch Alumni Association Fundraiser

Stop by the Millikin Alumni Association booth for a quick lunch. All proceeds go to support an alumni relations award presented to an outstanding graduating senior.

Fraternity/Sorority Life Excursion

Interested in learning more about Fraternity and Sorority Life? Information tables and tours of chapter facilities will begin from Richards Treat University Center and the Arrival Court.

"The Plant That Ate Dirty Socks" by Nancy McArthur

Messy Michael and his younger brother, Norman, the neatness nut and expert pest, share a room in constant conflict in this comic tale. From seeds that came in the mail, the boys grow two weird but lovable pet plants that they name Stanley and Fluffy. But these plants do more than just stand around. They develop a growing appetite for socks and cause disasters at home and at the school science fair. The brothers put aside their squabbling and work together to come up with a zany plan to save the plants from Mom and Dad's ultimatum to get rid of them.

The Multicultural Student Council (MSC) is the governing body of ten underrepresented student organizations. These organizations will offer an opportunity for tasting food from various cultures, and interacting with Millikin's diverse student body. Each ticket buys one sample of your choice.

Collage Concert
7:30 p.m.
Kirkland Fine Arts Center

Collage showcases Millikin University's leading performance ensembles in a delightful evening of musical variety including the University Choir under the direction of Brad Holmes, Symphonic Wind Ensemble under the direction of Gary Shaw, String Arts Ensemble under the direction of Michael Luxner, OneVoice under the direction of Stephen Widenhofer, Jazz Band I under the direction of Randy Reyman, Guitar Ensemble I under the direction of Manley Mallard, and Percussion Ensembles under the direction of Brian Justison. Tickets can be purchased at the Kirkland Fine Arts Center Box Office or by visiting www.kirklandfinearts.com.

UCB Glow in the Dark Mini Golf

The University Center Board (UCB) will provide an exclusive 18 hole glow in the dark mini-golf course in Lower Richards Treat University Center (LRTUC).

Sunday, Sept. 22

Fall Family Brunch
11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Richards Treat University Center (RTUC), Wornick Dining Hall
Millikin University Campus

The brunch will be an opportunity for students, along with their families and friends to spend time with each other and current faculty and staff. Cost is $8.33 (with tax) paid at the door via cash or credit card. No pre-registration.

Millikin Women's Soccer
12 noon
Millikin Soccer Complex

Come out to the soccer field before heading home and watch the Millikin Women's soccer team take on Westminster College (Mo.).
