The Millikin University Percussion Ensemble will present their annual "Synergy" concert on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 4 p.m. in Kirkland Fine Arts Center.

"Synergy" showcases the distinctiveness of Millikin's ubiquitous interdisciplinary alliances through a collaborative concert featuring performances with students across the College of Fine Arts.

This year's program will explore the many parallels between music and visual arts, and will feature art students enrolled in Annette Russo's, Millikin assistant professor of art, design course. This performative setting will place the artists on stage alongside the award-winning percussion ensemble in a unique blending of expressive form that is sure to intrigue the audience.

Quinn Wise, a senior theatre major from Madison, Ind., and Anna Marie Abbate, a junior theatre major from Niles, Ill., two student choreographers studying with Angela Fleddermann Miller, Millikin instructor of dance, will create a culminating synergistic performance encompassing music, sculpture and modern dance.

Tickets for "Synergy" are $8 and may be purchased at the Kirkland Fine Arts Center Box Office, by phone at 217.424.6318 or online at www.kirklandfinearts.com. A $2.50 fee will be charged for credit card purchases. This is a per transaction free, not per ticket, and applies to online and Box Office orders. Kirkland Box Office hours are Monday – Friday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

This event is free for Millikin University students and College of Fine Arts faculty with a Millikin University ID.
