Millikin University seeks such a tenure-track faculty member in the Tabor School of Business to teach entrepreneurship beginning August 1, 2017. We are seeking a passionate, creative, innovative, collaborative teacher holding or nearing completion of an earned doctorate from an accredited institution who desires to be a distinctive leader in the field of entrepreneurship.
Our hallmark of teaching is performance learning where creating opportunities for students to engage with external stakeholders is emphasized. In collaboration with our nationally recognized Center for Entrepreneurship the person in this tenure-track position must be dedicated to teaching entrepreneurship for students across multiple disciplines. Millikin University’s Tabor School of Business offers an entrepreneurship major, a minor in entrepreneurship for non-business majors, and undergraduate certificates in entrepreneurship and arts entrepreneurship.
Teach in the undergraduate entrepreneurship program. Courses include Foundations of Entrepreneurship, Social Entrepreneurship, Corporate Entrepreneurship, Funding New Ventures, and other topics as required.
Teach in Millikin’s MBA program as appropriate
Work closely with Millikin’s Center for Entrepreneurship,
Collaborate across disciplines, and the larger community (locally, regionally, and nationally) in providing leadership and support in curriculum development, including numerous multi-disciplinary, nationally recognized student-run ventures.
Contribute meaningful scholarship to the professional literature in the field of entrepreneurship.
Advise and mentor students, both academically and professionally.
Engage in university, community, and professional service.

We are looking for a candidate who will build relationships with students and faculty from many disciplines and with the broader community of business practitioners.

Doctoral degree in entrepreneurship or related area with substantive coursework or other study in entrepreneurship, eligibility to complete AACSB entrepreneurship bridge program or equivalent. ABD candidates with less than 12 months until defense are welcome to apply.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
Demonstrated written scholarship in the field of entrepreneurship or other relevant business fields.
Experience leading and launching an entrepreneurial venture or a strategic endeavor within an organization is strongly preferred.
Evidence of ability to develop external business relationships locally and globally.
Evidence of the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
