Update to MAP Grant Suspension (received February 3, 2017)
The Illinois Student Assistance Commission has extended the Monetary Award Program (MAP Grant) suspension to include the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) initial submission December 22, 2016 through and including January 15, 2017.

Deadline for FAFSA - Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at midnight - ILLINOIS RESIDENTS ** ALERT
The Illinois Student Assistance Commission has suspended the MAP Grant! If your initial 2017-18 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is received on or after Thursday, December 22, 2016 you will not be considered for the MAP Grant. Your application must be received by Central Processing (FAFSA) by Midnight, Wednesday, December 21, 2016, to be considered for the State of Illinois MAP Grant.
**NEW** FAFSA for 2017-18 Available Earlier
Beginning with the 2017-18 academic year, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid will be available October 1, 2016. Please mark this date on your calendar and plan to file as soon as possible on or after October 1st. State of Illinois Residents, it is extremely important to file early so that you may be considered for the State of IL MAP Grant. As in past years, have your FSA ID available to sign your FAFSA electronically. The chart below provided a visual for dates and tax information to use on the FAFSA.

- Students will be able to submit a 2017-18 FAFSA as early as October 1, 2016, rather than beginning on January 1, 2017.
- Students and parents will report income information from an earlier tax year (2015 instead of 2016).

If you receive a Student Financial Resource Center Form, please discard! The only form you need to complete for financial aid at Millikin is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
