College of Fine Arts (CFA) Scholarship Requirements for Multimedia Communication
The College of Fine Arts annually awards a number of scholarships to prospective students who are pursuing studies in Multimedia Communication. These awards are based on talent and/or academic achievement and are renewed each year a student remains enrolled in the College of Fine Arts. You must first be admitted to Millikin before you can apply for scholarships.
To apply for the College of Fine Arts Scholarship in Multimedia Communication, you must:
1. Submit the scholarship application.
Admitted students can submit their application on their myVIP page.
2. Submit a Professional Statement
200-500 word statement that 1) explains how storytelling, publishing, multimedia journalism, and/or technology are integrated into your work; 2) how studying Multimedia Communication relates to your future goals; 3) what it means to be a leader in the discipline, classroom or on campus.
3. Submit Your Portfolio
Once you have been accepted into the university you will be sent a link to submit your portfolio and other application materials in a form.
4. Student Works
3-15 multimedia communication works that showcase your existing skills and talents with media art, photo/video journalism, creative writing, podcast/radio, and/or audio or visual storytelling pieces. If you have participated in your high school yearbook, newspaper, or other relating club or group, please mention that in the online form.
Quality over quantity of pieces shown is appreciated.
*If more than 15 pieces are submitted, only the first 15 will be reviewed.
Portfolio Formatting Requirements:
- Printed or 3D Works should be photographed or scanned.
- Written works can be pasted directed on Behance.
- All files must be provided digitally and hosted on the web. You can either submit the URL to your personal portfolio website if you have one or you can quickly create a free digital portfolio on Behance.net
- Instructions for hosting files on Behance can be found here.
- Behance allows for users to embed videos, sound files, etc from the following third-party sites and should cover most display needs: Vimeo, YouTube, Adobe TV, Giphy, Amazon, Appointy, creddle.io, Twitter, Vine, Adobe Voice, Adobe Slate, Blip.tv, Dailymotion, SoundCloud, Mixcloud, Bandcamp, Scribd, Google Maps, Wufoo, SlideShare, Prezi, Sketchfab, Issuu, InVision, and more.
- Each work submitted should have a title and a description of the assignment, personal goals, and/or concept displayed.
