Naperville, Ill. - Annual Nyberg Football Party. 11 a.m. pre-game party at Features Bar and Grill with special guest New Millikin Athletic Director Joe Hakes (Held at Club Mamalu on left as you enter the restaurant), 10 W. Chicago Ave, corner of Chicago and Washington St., phone 630-416-3310. Pay as you go. Order off the menu (sandwiches, wraps, salad, homemade soup). The party precedes the Big Blue football game at North Central at 1 p.m. at Benedetti - Wherli Stadium (just a short walk or drive from Features). On campus - Homecoming 2008! If your class year ends in a three or an eight, get ready for your reunion! Also a reunion for communication majors from the era of Stacy Myers, former communication department chair, and an additional reunion with a haiku anthology reading and dinner also is planned. On campus - 50th Vespers Celebration, reception from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in Richard Treat University Center (immediately preceding the 3 p.m. Vespers performance in Kirkland Fine Arts Center), hosted by Dr. Brad Holmes, director of choral activities, and featuring special guest Kay Hoffland, wife of the late Richard Hoffland, founding director of the Vespers concerts. Europe - Join Millikin alumni and friends for an eight-day, seven-night trip to Vienna, Prague and Budapest. Highlights include visits to the St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague, Fisherman's Bastion in Buda and St. Charles Church in Vienna. Click here for more info. Decatur - Join the Millikin Central Illinois Alumni (MCIA) for an Italian buffet at Tuscany Steak and Pasta House, 1099 W. Wood, from 5-7 p.m. served between the Big Blue women’s basketball game vs. Illinois Wesleyan at 2 p.m., and the men’s basketball game vs. the Wheaton Thunder at 7:30 p.m., at Griswold Physical Education Center (special seating for our group). On campus - Join the Millikin Central Illinois Alumni (MCIA) for Sunday brunch at Millikin in lower Richards Treat University Center, with entertainment from the School of Music. Cost is $12 per person. After brunch, you’re invited to attend your choice of the Department of Theatre and Dance production of “Romeo and Juliet” in Albert Taylor Theatre or a concert by the Millikin Symphonic Bands at Kirkland, both at 2 p.m. Ticket price for “Romeo and Juliet” is $8/11 (receive a 10 percent discount with your alumni association card), and the concert is free.
