School Nurse Certificate

A registered nurse (RN) with a bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university may gain the State of Illinois certificate to serve in the elementary and secondary schools as a School Nurse. Millikin University has one of only four approved programs for School Nursing in the State of Illinois. The program is designed to assist nurses to understand schools, school employees, school children and to provide a coordinated school health program in the K-12 schools of Illinois.

Students currently studying nursing at Millikin may simultaneously complete a nursing program and the school nurse certificate program.
