"Ngozi has a B.S. in education from Illinois State University where she majored in junior high/middle school education with specializations in mathematics and social studies. Ngozi also earned an M.S. in Educational Administration from Eastern Illinois University. She is currently working on an Ed.D in Curriculum and Instruction, Language and Literacy Division, with an area of emphasis in Children’s and Young Adult Literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Ngozi continues to maintain her teaching certification and endorsements for middle school, as well as general administrative certification and certification to be a superintendent of schools. Prior to coming to Millikin, she worked for Decatur Public Schools as an elementary schoolteacher, gifted strategist, technology coordinator, and an administrator for comprehensive school reform and shared decision making, respectively. At Millikin, Ngozi teaches in both the traditional and PACE programs for the School of Education. Her main course load consists of the Introduction to American Education, Children's Literature, Language Arts Methods, and Reading Methods. She is member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, the Illinois Reading Council, the International Reading Association, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In her little spare time, Ngozi enjoys writing screenplays and producing independent films, reading lots of books, and engaging in digital photography among other things."
