Two high-quality symphonic ensembles designed for young musicians who are interested in making music in a collaborative, encouraging environment with other students from the Decatur area.  Membership is open to music students in grades 5-12 who have had at least one year of experience playing their instrument.  Rehearsals take place on Monday evenings (5:15 to 6:45 for Senior Orchestra and 5:15 to 6:15 for Junior Orchestra) at Millikin University. Tuition is $50 per semester (scholarships available).

 Placement Auditions for 2013-14 Season

Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Thursday, Sept. 5

5pm - 7:30pm, Perkinson Music Center Room #218

    Students should prepare music that showcases their expressive and technical playing.  That could be one piece that does both or two separate ones.  They will also need to play scales (appropriate for their grade level) and sight read unfamiliar music.

    Friday, March 21st - St. Louis Symphony Concert "New World"

    Sunday, April 13 at 2pm - Spring Concert
