Fall Unified Auditions

Intimate Apparel  9 to 5  Wintertime 

Tuesday, August 22 - Saturday, August 26

 

PROCESS FOR AUDITIONS:

  • You will have 2 minutes to present a song and monologue.

SONG:

  • Please select an up-tempo audition cut that places you in the musical 9 to 5 using the music of the artists listed below.   All songs must be up-tempo - Please DO NOT sing a ballad for this audition.  When exploring the music of these singers - do not default to their most popular hits.  We trust you to put more effort and thought into this selection.

MONOLOGUE:

  • Please prepare a contemporary dramatic monologue that is rooted in action and NOT in story telling. 

DANCE CALLS:

Tuesday, August 22

  • Learn 9 to 5 dance combination from 6:00pm-10:00pm - Old Gym Dance Studio.

Friday, August 25

  • Show 9 to 5 Dance combination for 6:00pm - 10:00pm - Old Gym Dance Studio
    • Those called back for Intimate Apparel will dance in the first group @ 6:00pm.
  • Required shoes
    • Women - Character shoes with 2.5" heels
    • Men - Character Oxfords or Jazz shoes

FOR ALL THEATRE MAJORS

  • Freshmen and Juniors will present songs and monologues on Wednesday night, August 23 - KFAC
  • Sophomores and Seniors will present songs and monologues on Thursday night, August 24 - KFAC

       **all other students may sign up either evening.**

CALLBACKS

  • Intimate Apparel: Friday, August 25, 7:00pm – 10:00pm - Albert Taylor
  • Wintertime:  Saturday, August 26, 10:00am - 1:00pm - Albert Taylor
  • 9 to 5:  Saturday, August 26, 2:00pm - 6:00pm - KFAC (on stage)

JUNIOR AND SENIOR BFA ACTING MAJORS ONLY

If you do not want to sing or dance at the audition you must submit a written request to Alex Miller (avmiller@millikin.edu) by Monday, August 21st; you will still have the full 2 minutes for your audition if you want to use it

*Note - those who choose not to sing or dance may still be considered for non singing/dancing roles in the musical.
