Welcome to Behavioral Sciences
Explore the connections between mind, behavior and society within Millikin’s Behavioral Sciences Department. Get involved with meaningful causes, perform graduate-level research and deepen your understanding of society and the individuals within.
Perform Graduate-Level Research
All Psychology majors have the opportunity to be involved in research. Students complete a senior Psychology Capstone research project under the direction of a faculty member, resulting in a research paper that can accompany their applications to graduate schools.
Develop Expertise with Professional-Grade Software
The Behavioral Sciences Computer Lab is equipped with 10 computers that use specialized software for statistical analysis and research. It includes the same software for computerized experimentation in psychology that is used by researchers around the world.
Intern with Local Agencies
The final experiential course is a Capstone Internship. Students are placed as an intern in a selected learning site at a community, state, social service, or welfare agency.
Career Paths
Millikin graduates are extremely employable; 99% of students gain employment or entrance into graduate or professional school within six months of graduation.
